An introductory lecture on the topic `Georgian - One of the Ancient Languages in the World’ was held for KWIU students as a part of Orientation Week program. Lecture was conducted by Salome Dzidziguri, Associate Professor of KWIU.
Salome Dzidziguri: “Georgian language is considered as one of the oldest still-spoken languages in the world. Though it is quite a unique and interesting language from the linguistic point of view, the main reason why we teach this language is to enable students with the communicative skills that will help them to be actively involved in practices during their clinical years of study. Working on speaking and listening skills makes it possible for students to communicate with the Georgian patients and obtain the basic information from them. knowledge of the Georgian language helps them to establish basic professional and social contacts and prevents them from being the passive observers only”.
