On March 28, 2024, Ken Walker International University proudly hosted its 2nd White Coat Ceremony, a pivotal event marking the beginning of students' journey into the medical field. During the ceremony, students were presented with white coats adorned with the university's emblematic logo. The symbolic event signifies their transition into the field of medicine and their steadfast commitment to professionalism, compassion, and ethical patient care.
The ceremony featured poignant speeches delivered by distinguished figures, including Alan Purcell, Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Georgia; Archil Undilashvili, MD, PhD, Director of Educational Programs at Emory University School of Medicine; Gordon Churchward, PhD, Assistant Dean at Emory University SOM; Joel Felner, Professor of Cardiology at Emory University SOM; COL Mark Hartell, Military Deputy Director of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs; Lasha Margishvili, Acting Director of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, and Professor Eka Ekaladze, Rector of Ken Walker International University.
Adding to the esteemed lineup of speakers, Zaza Pachulia, Former NBA Player and Distinguished Speaker, extended his congratulations to the new students and made a special announcement: an Honorary Doctorate of Ken Walker International University was presented to COL Mark Hartell. Professor Archil Undilashvili presented the symbolic certificate to the Colonel in front of the audience, alongside the university's rector, Professor Eka Ekaladze.
Senior student Abdul Aziz Haleelullah, from the class of 2028, delivered a motivational speech to new students, sharing personal insights from his medical education journey.
As the event drew to a close, students solemnly recited an oath alongside Professor Eka Ekaladze, the Rector of Ken Walker International University.
