Research at KWIU

Although Ken Walker International University is primarily a teaching university, its vision is to become an internationally recognized higher education institution, competitive both locally and globally, and known as a reliable partner with a strong reputation. One of its key commitments is to promote and conduct high-quality scientific research that supports the interests of its educational programs.

One of the university’s strategic priorities is to foster research activities, promote internationalization, and ensure the practical application of research outcomes. The coordination of research activities within the university is carried out by the Medical Education and Science Development Office.

The university has adopted a Research Development Strategy document aimed at defining its approach to scientific research, including:

  • Transparent, fair, and public internal procedures for research funding;

  • Support for academic staff in conducting scientific research;

  • Development of students’ research skills and encouraging their involvement in research projects;

  • Collaboration with local and international partners to share best research practices.

Ken Walker International University has identified two main research priority areas:

  • Public Health

  • Medical Education

However, these priorities do not limit the implementation of other types of research activities. Any member of the university (academic or invited staff) has the right to propose research ideas and receive appropriate support from the university—taking into account available resources and the relevance of the research topic—to bring their ideas to fruition.
