Student Services
To foster students’ academic, career, and personal development, the University operates a Student Services and Support Office. The main functions of the Office include:
Orientation & Adaptation – Welcome sessions and guidance for new and international students.
Academic & Career Advice – One-on-one consultations to plan studies, set goals, and boost performance.
International Mobility Info – Updates on exchange and study abroad opportunities.
Professional Masterclasses – Training on professionalism, stress management, time management, and more.
Career Skills Workshops – CV writing, personal statements, interviews, and USMLE preparation.
Clubs & Activities – Support for student clubs, sports, cultural events, and extracurricular projects.
Project Support – Funding and guidance for student-led educational initiatives.
Support for Educational Projects
The University actively encourages the implementation of student-led educational projects by providing organizational support, funding, and other resources. These projects aim not only to enhance professional skills but also to develop students’ general competencies and knowledge. Any student may submit their initiative to the Student Services Office for review.
Consultation Services
To help students plan their studies and improve academic performance, the University offers consultations in several areas:
“Student Guide” – A document prepared by the program’s administrative team and provided to students on their first day. It contains essential information on obtaining student status, registration procedures, the academic calendar, program regulations, and more. It also includes general information on Georgia and Tbilisi, public transportation, cultural events, and other useful details — particularly valuable for international students.
Orientation Week – Immediately after enrollment, the program administration organizes orientation events, providing detailed information on regulations, planning, and management of the learning process. Students receive guidance to help them adapt and integrate into university life. These sessions involve administrative and academic staff, guest lecturers, and active student club members who introduce new students to their activities.
Academic Advising – Faculty deans and program heads are responsible for guiding students in effective study planning and improving academic performance. In cases involving students with special educational needs or as defined by the University’s methodology for developing an “Individual Study Plan,” a tailored plan is created with the student’s active participation.
Career Development Support
Career support services aim to develop students’ practical and clinical skills, enhance professional growth, and increase employment prospects. The Student Services and Support Office coordinates this process in collaboration with other university units, implementing student-focused projects such as:
Employment Support Initiatives – Given the specific nature of medical education, professional employment may involve objective barriers. Beyond academic knowledge, the University helps students develop competitive skills for the labor market, such as writing a professional CV, personal statement, motivation letter, and interview techniques.
With growing interest in U.S. licensing exams, the University offers students a free, non-curricular preparatory course for the USMLE, covering the exam structure, specifics, and related administrative details.
Professional Development Masterclasses – Delivered by University faculty, guest experts, and representatives from Emory University, who visit each semester to share their expertise. Topics include professionalism in medicine, stress management and resilience, time management, and effective prioritization.
