About University

LLC - Ken Walker International University was established in 2019. The idea behind founding the university was to create a new educational space tailored to the growing global demand for medical education—one that would be oriented towards the international market.

The concept of establishing the university was strengthened by a strong component of international collaboration—the support and active involvement of the American side and their willingness to participate in the creation of a teaching center in Georgia that meets international standards and maintains close ties with the American medical education and healthcare system. Emory School of Medicine is one of the leading medical institutions in the U.S., known for pioneering numerous innovative teaching methods and being one of the world's prominent research institutions. Accordingly, our collaboration envisions working in both educational and research directions.

The idea of founding the university is also linked to the team behind LLC Ken Walker International University, distinguished by their extensive experience and expertise in the field of medical education. The university’s partner is the American non-governmental organization Partners for International Development, which has implemented numerous projects in Georgia in the field of medical education. For years, the organization has supported the Georgian side in delivering practical training in the healthcare sector, retraining personnel across various levels of the healthcare system, as well as professors and educators. The organization also plays a significant role in equipping medical clinics and educational institutions with medical supplies.

In collaboration with American partners, the university plans and implements:

  • Development of joint educational programs/courses;

  • Training and professional development of academic staff;

  • External evaluation of educational programs;

  • Implementation of new/modern teaching methods and methodologies;

  • Maximum support for the integration of clinical aspects into theoretical teaching;

  • Expansion and support of opportunities for students to complete clinical clerkships in U.S.-based clinical settings;

  • Organization of exchange programs not only for students but also for academic, invited, and administrative staff.

The university’s strategic development over the next seven years envisions firmly establishing itself locally, expanding into the global educational space, and preparing professionals who are competitive in the market—future successful leaders who are ready to embrace lifelong learning and tackle new challenges in the field of medicine.
