Ken Walker International University hosted Professor Gordon Churchward from the Emory University School of Medicine, Chair of the Academic Council of KWIU and one of the university’s distinguished academic partners.
Professor Churchward met with first-year medical students to discuss the profound meaning of being a medical student and the beginning of their professional journey in medicine.
During the interactive session, students explored the roles, responsibilities, and mindset essential for future physicians. Professor Churchward highlighted the importance of curiosity, ethical practice, and continuous learning, emphasizing that the journey of a medical student is as much about personal growth as it is about academic achievement.
The session provided students with insight into the professional identity of physicians, the challenges and rewards of medical education, and guidance on how to cultivate resilience, empathy, and critical thinking from the very start of their medical careers.
KWIU continues to organize sessions with its American partners to inspire students, strengthen their professional development, and ensure they are well-prepared for the demands of a global medical career.
