As part of the ongoing collaboration between Ken Walker International University and the Emory University School of Medicine, Professors Gordon Churchward and Mary Jo Lechowicz met with third-year medical students to discuss effective strategies for preparing for the USMLE Step 1 – the first and one of the most important examinations on the path to medical licensure in the United States.
During the interactive session, students explored essential aspects of Step 1 preparation, including study planning, resource selection, integration of basic sciences into clinical reasoning, maintaining motivation, avoiding burnout, and more.
KWIU invited lecturers, Dr. Mariam Rochikashvili and Dr. Luka Kutchava, also participated in the discussion, providing practical guidance and sharing insights from their own successful USMLE experiences.
Professor Churchward emphasized the importance of critical thinking, consistency, and a deep understanding of medical concepts, highlighting these as key components of successful exam preparation.
The session provided students with valuable academic guidance and motivation, further demonstrating that Ken Walker International University actively supports its students in attaining internationally recognized standards of medical education and developing the essential skills for their professional growth.
