Ken Walker International University has the honor of welcoming Doctor Douglas Ander, Professor of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine, Assistant Dean for Medical Education, and Adjunct Faculty at Morehouse School of Medicine.
Professor Ander delivered a lecture titled “One Typical Day in an Emergency Medicine Doctor’s Life,” providing students with an authentic glimpse into the fast-paced and high-stakes world of emergency medical care. Using real-life examples and personal experiences, he highlighted the importance of teamwork, quick decision-making, and compassion in managing critical situations.
The session not only emphasized the challenges and complexities of working in emergency departments but also showcased the profound sense of purpose and fulfillment that comes from saving lives every day.
The insights shared by Dr. Ander sparked great enthusiasm among KWIU students, leading to informal discussions and Q&A sessions that continued long after the lecture, as students eagerly explored topics such as medical training, patient care strategies, and professional pathways in the United States.
