Ken Walker International University celebrated World Diabetes Day with a series of interactive stations and hands-on workshops aimed at raising awareness and promoting healthier lifestyles. The event was organized by the student club KWIU Medical Society.
The 2025 World Diabetes Day theme, “Diabetes Across Life Stages,” highlights the importance of lifelong care, supportive environments, and health policies that accompany individuals living with diabetes.
Students actively participated in themed educational activities:
At the Sugar Station, they explored hidden sugars in everyday foods;
The Know Your Facts stand provided essential information on diabetes prevention;
At the Quiz Station, participants tested their knowledge and received themed bookmarks as prizes.
The Build Your Plate nutrition corner introduced practical methods for assembling balanced meals, while a Pledge Wall encouraged students to commit to healthier lifestyle choices.
KWIU faculty members delivered educational presentations on diabetes and shared stories of individuals who lead dynamic, successful lives while managing the condition.
Students also took part in a Glucose and Blood Pressure Workshop, which included a live finger-prick demonstration and paired practice in blood pressure measurement.
The event successfully brought together education, practical skills, and student engagement, inspiring a healthier and more informed future generation.
