On May 19, 2026, Ken Walker International University hosted the Horizon Europe Georgia National Office Information Day, aimed at introducing academic staff and researchers to European research and funding opportunities.
The event was opened by the Rector of the University, Professor Eka Ekaladze, and the Head of the Horizon Europe Georgia National Office, Levan Khetsuriani, who spoke about the importance of international scientific collaboration and opportunities for active engagement within the European research space.
During the information day, participants were introduced to current and upcoming opportunities available under the Horizon Europe programme, including 2026 - 2027 calls in the Health cluster, funding mechanisms and development opportunities under Innovative Europe, as well as participation opportunities and key requirements within WIDERA and the European Research Area initiatives.
The meeting also provided participants with the opportunity to ask questions directly and receive practical guidance on the opportunities Horizon Europe offers to Georgian researchers.
Such information sessions contribute to strengthening research culture at the university, fostering international collaboration, and raising awareness about European funding opportunities.
