Students of Ken Walker International University who participated in the Summer at Emory Program made presentations and shared their experiences with peers and first-year students. The event was attended by Emory University professors Gordon Churchward and Mary Jo Lechowicz.
Participants were selected through a competitive application process based on academic performance, with the top 8 students chosen to represent KWIU.
During the program, students traveled to Atlanta, Georgia (USA), where they explored the academic and cultural environment of Emory University. They attended lectures and seminars led by distinguished faculty, doctors, residents, and fellows.
The group had the opportunity to observe clinical practice at Grady Memorial Hospital and Emory University Hospital, gain firsthand insight into the U.S. medical education system and healthcare practices, build valuable professional connections with American physicians, residents, and researchers, and immerse themselves in American culture through visits to iconic locations such as Coca-Cola World, Georgia Aquarium, and others.
This unique exchange was made possible through the Memorandum of Understanding on Educational Support between Ken Walker International University and Emory University School of Medicine.
The “Summer at Emory” program is held annually, providing KWIU students the chance to broaden their academic horizons and experience medicine in a global context.
