Ken Walker International University successfully hosted the second session of the student-led emergency medicine workshop series - “Save a Life”, further strengthening participants’ practical skills in managing critical clinical situations.
The series is organized by Ken Walker Medical Society, in collaboration with the University’s Simulation Center.
The program is designed to develop essential emergency response skills, equipping students with the ability to act quickly and effectively in life-threatening situations.
During the second session, participants explored key emergency topics, including:
• Bleeding control techniques - rapid identification and effective management of hemorrhage;
• Burn management - assessment and initial treatment of burn injuries;
• Initial management of sports injuries - early response to sprains and fractures.
The training was conducted in a simulation-based environment, allowing students to practice in conditions closely resembling real clinical scenarios. This approach significantly enhances both professional confidence and rapid decision-making skills.
The KWIU Simulation Center ensured high-quality delivery of the training by providing modern equipment, a hands-on learning environment, as well as full educational and technical support, and active involvement in the design and implementation of the workshop.
The core message remains clear - every second counts in emergency medicine.
Certificates will be awarded upon completion of the full program, recognizing participants’ commitment and their newly acquired life-saving competencies in emergency care.
